Texas’s Constitutional Carry law went into effect on September 1, 2021, which caused many leftists to lose their minds.
Under Constitutional Carry, lawful Texans no longer have to beg the government for permission to exercise their right to self-defense.
This was too much for some folks on Twitter.
One poster, Jay Leeson, a so-called “prairie populist” and journalist based in the Lubbock area, issued a bold threat to anyone who commits the horrendous crime of open carrying in public. Leeson tweeted “If tomorrow you wear a gun exposed in a public place where families and kids are around, I’m gonna be real tempted to unholster you, pistol whip you, and teach you some West Texas manners. #txlege @The87thTxlege”

Leeson is clearly not a fan of Texas’ new Constitutional Carry law.
While open carrying might not be everyone’s cup of tea, as long as individuals are carrying responsibly and safely, there’s no reason to worry. Unfortunately, there are many people out there who have been so programmed by the corporate media to believe that open carrying is an inherently criminal activity.
This demonstrates how there needs to be bold leadership on the Second Amendment, which consists of passing solid legislation, educating gun owners on proper firearms usage, and outreach efforts to crime-affected communities. In doing so, people will quickly learn that the overwhelming majority of gun owners are normal people. Plus, gun grabbers will quickly learn that passing relaxed gun measures won’t lead to the end of the world scenarios that they constantly hyperventilate about.
Leeson can keep his tough guy act on Twitter. Real Second Amendment activists will be hitting the pavement and ignoring the fanatic ravings of extremely online Twitter leftists.
