Republican Rep. Bob Good (VA-05) has filed the Protecting Individual Sovereignty Through Our Laws Act, or PISTOL Act, which will prevent Joe Biden’s gun-grabbing administration from arduously regulating pistol braces. The bill does this by clarifying that what constitutes a pistol is not subject to bureaucratic interpretation.
“The right to keep and bear arms is not subject to arbitrary regulation, especially when the law was never intended to apply to firearm accessories,” said U.S Congressman Bob Good. “My bill would hold the Biden Administration accountable and prevent them from improperly classifying pistol braces or regulating them by decree.”
Anybody who owns, or has looked into owning an “AR-Pistol” knows just how difficult it is to keep up with the ATF’s seemingly ever changing interpretation of what differentiates a rifle, pistol, and a so-called “any other weapon (AOW).

Of course, Joe Biden’s anti-gun administration errs on the side of making things as difficult for gun owners as possible.
Biden recently ordered the Department of Justice to issue a rule defining a pistol with a stabilizing brace as a short-barreled rifle, which would subject them to National Firearms Act regulation. Those currently owning a firearm that qualifies would be forced to obtain a $200 tax stamp, among other stringent requirements, or become a felon overnight if they refuse to turn over any firearms that qualify.
Rep. Good’s bill would stop Biden and his anti-pals, like his rapidly gun ATF Director, David Chipman.
Gun rights leaders across the country are praising his measure.
Dudley Brown, president of the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) stated that Good’s bill is the right move to fight back against the anti-gunners in Washington.
“The Biden Administration poses the biggest threat to the Constitutional rights of freedom-loving Americans that we have seen in decades – and their unconstitutional attack on pistol braces sets a dangerous precedent for anti-gun legislators to further regulate firearm accessories in the future,” Brown said. “The PISTOL Act is the right piece of legislation to fight back against their gun grab, and the National Association for Gun Rights applauds Rep. Bob Good and his work to prevent more draconian government regulation.”
Executive Director of the Virginia Gun Rights Task Force, Chris Anders, responded to the bill’s introduction by stating:
“With rabid anti-gun nut Joe Biden occupying the White House, it is crucial that gun owners in Virginia know their second amendment rights are being protected in Washington, DC. Congressman Bob Good is doing just that with his introduction of the PISTOL Act. Time and time again bureaucrats in Washington stand between law abiding gun owners and their right to exercise a God given right. Virginia Gun Rights stands with Rep. Good and his pushback against another unconstitutional ban.”
Rep. Good also has strong support for his bill from pro-gun legislators in Washington, touting an impressive list of co-sponsors, including Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and Matt Gaetz (R-FL), among many others.
