Is globalist gun control making a comeback?

On August 31, 2021,  State Department functionary William Malzahn gave a speech at the Seventh Conference of States Parties to Arms Trade Treaty where he expressed the Biden Administration’s devotion to realizing international gun control.

According to AWR Hawkins of Breitbart News, “Malzahn is the Acting Deputy Director of the Office of Conventional Arms Threat Reduction at the U.S. Department of State.”

Breitbart News was able to obtain a transcript of Malzahn’s speech from the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), which emphasized the passage of international gun control schemes and specifically brought attention to the desire of enacting the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).

Hawkins highlighted Malzahn’s opening comments:

I have come from Washington D.C. this week to take the floor on the agenda item Treaty Universalization to underscore the continuing commitment of the United States to responsible international trade in conventional arms.  The United States has long supported strong and effective national controls on the international transfer of conventional arms, and the Arms Trade Treaty is an important tool from promoting those controls internationally.”

Malzahn referred to the Conventional Arms Transfer Policy (CAT), which sets governing standards for “arms transfers.” He also called attention to how the Biden Administration has been working to strengthen CAT. He emphasized that the changes in CAT were in accordance with “respect for international law and human rights and U.S. national security interests in arms transfers.”

Further, Malzahn highlighted that the modified CAT policy will establish a “framework to review specific arms transfer issues, including determining the proper relationship of the United States to the Arms Trade Treaty.”

The Arms Trade Treaty is peak globalism. International bodies hate the right to bear arms. It is a uniquely American tradition and embodies a freedom that most of this world does not enjoy.

Republicans must make a stink about any effort to subject Americans’ Second Amendment rights to the dominion of globalist international organizations that view this concept with hostility.
